Knickohr trifft auf einen Wolfswelpen, der sich ihm anschließt.
Yakari kommt hinzu und klärt Knickohr darüber auf, dass das Junge zu seinem Rudel zurück muss.
Knickohr kommt das gerade recht, dann wird er sich eben den Wölfen anschließen.
Yakari sieht ein großes Unglück voraus und folgt Knickohr und dem kleinen Wolf in einigem Abstand auf dem Weg zum Rudel.
Und tatsächlich, als das Wolfsrudel das Junge ausgerechnet bei einem Hund entdeckt, wird der arme Hund mächtig angeknurrt und von den Wölfen eingekreist.
Es sieht gar nicht gut aus für Knickohr.
